§ 18-21. New onsite sewage disposal systems.

  • (a)

    As of May 1, 2005, no new conventional septic tank systems shall be permitted for construction on Alligator Point. All permits issued for new onsite sewage disposal systems on and after May 1, 2005, shall be for aerobic treatment units only meeting the standards of Chapter 64E-6, Florida Administrative Code.

    (b)

    As of May 1, 2005, any existing septic tanks on Alligator Point which fails shall be replaced with an aerobic treatment unit meeting the standards of Chapter 64E-6, Florida Administrative Code. However, a failed drainfield may be repaired without replacing the septic tank, if the repair will not violate the minimum one hundred fifty-foot surface water setback of the Franklin County Critical Shoreland Ordinance. Any district shall require the replacement of the septic tank with an aerobic treatment unit.

    (c)

    "Alligator Point" is defined as the following geographic area: Range One West, Township Seven South, Fractional Section Six and Range Two West, Township Seven South, Fraction Section One, Two and Three, Franklin County, Florida.
