§ 1-7. General penalty.

  • (a)

    Except as otherwise provided in this Code, it shall be unlawful for any person to violate, or to fail to comply with, any provision of this Code.

    (b)

    Except where otherwise provided therein, violations of this Code or of other county ordinances shall be prosecuted in the same manner as misdemeanors are prosecuted. Such violations shall be prosecuted in the name of the state in a court having jurisdiction of misdemeanors by the prosecuting attorney thereof and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed sixty (60) days or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day any violation of any provision of the Code or other ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense, unless otherwise provided.
