§ 17-35. Further powers of the board of commissioners.

  • The board of commissioners may sue and be sued and service upon the chairman of the board shall be sufficient service. The board shall have the authority to accept gifts and donations from any individual, business, firm, corporation or governmental agency, federal, state, county or municipal. The board may contract with any person, firm, corporation or governmental agency. The board may own and hold property both real and personal. The board may use the right of condemnation under the procedures set forth in Chapters 73 and 74, Florida Statutes.
